Dr Amit Verma
Director, Dr. AV Cancer Institute
Pioneering Precision Oncology in India
Dr. Amit Verma is a nationally and internationally recognized molecular and medical oncologist, and researcher, with over 20 years of experience in transforming cancer care through science, compassion, and personalization. As the Founder and Director of Dr. AV Cancer Institute in Gurgaon, Dr. Verma leads a new era of cancer treatment where every patient receives care based not just on their diagnosis — but on their unique genetic and molecular profile.
A specialist in precision oncology, Dr. Verma believes that no two cancers are alike, and neither should be their treatment. His approach goes beyond traditional protocols, using advanced molecular diagnostics and genomic testing to tailor therapy for each individual. This ensures better outcomes, fewer side effects, and more informed decision-making for patients and their families.
Dr. Verma’s medical training includes postgraduate training at premier institute of India, AIIMS, New Delhi followed by a prestigious fellowship in personalized cancer therapy from the MD Anderson Cancer Center (USA) — one of the world’s top cancer centers — and a specialist certification in Medical Oncology from the Royal College of Physicians (UK). He also holds a fellowship in cancer research, has authored over 40 scientific publications, and holds a U.S. patent in cancer therapeutics.
Throughout his career, Dr. Verma has led numerous clinical trials, set up some of India’s earliest molecular tumor boards, and advised on national policies for cancer research and treatment. As an educator and mentor, he has trained hundreds of oncologists in India on the principles of targeted and immunotherapy.
At Dr. AV Cancer Institute, Dr. Verma and his team provide:
- Genomic & molecular profiling
- Personalized treatment planning
- Targeted therapy & immunotherapy
- Molecular tumor board consultations
- Cancer risk assessment and screening
- Long-term survivorship support
What truly sets Dr. Verma apart is his ability to blend deep scientific expertise with human-centered care. He is known for his compassionate, transparent communication and for empowering patients with clear, actionable information — especially those navigating complex or late-stage diagnoses.
His vision is to make precision oncology accessible to all — not just in metropolitan hospitals, but across India — so that every patient, no matter where they’re from, can benefit from modern, personalized cancer treatment.
If you or a loved one is seeking hope, clarity, or a second opinion, Dr. Amit Verma and his team are here to help you make informed choices at every step of the journey.
He and his team rely on the scientific advancements in molecular biology and genetics of cancer and use novel approaches such as Next-Generation Sequencing-NGS and other diverse techniques in cancer genomics ranging from PCR, liquid biopsy, gene signatures, gene expression, computational biology, and tumour imaging to tailor-made treatment options.
He is considered to be among the first few molecular oncologists in India, one of the best oncologists in Gurgaon and has been recognized by various scientific forums and society for his contributions. He has been instrumental in setting up the first Personalized Cancer Medicine Clinic and the first Molecular Oncology Tumor Board in India.
